At Awake.org, we believe that clothing is more than fabric — it’s a symbol of dignity, confidence, and hope. That's why we’ve created the "Community Closet": a donation-based resource center where individuals in need can access clean, appropriate clothing for job interviews, employment, inclement weather, and everyday life.

We gladly accept in-kind donations of new or gently used clothing for men, women, and youth. Your donated items are distributed directly to Awake.org clients — individuals who are navigating some of life’s most difficult challenges, including homelessness, reentry after incarceration, recovery, or economic hardship.

Access to clean, appropriate clothing helps our clients:

• Prepare for job interviews and professional opportunities
• Stay warm and safe in cold or wet weather
• Regain a sense of normalcy and self-worth during crisis or transition
• Feel seen, respected, and empowered in their daily lives

According to Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, clothing is a fundamental physiological need—alongside food, shelter, and water. Without these essentials, it’s difficult to focus on safety, employment, relationships, or long-term growth. Proper clothing also supports the need for security, helping individuals stabilize their lives with dignity and self-assurance.

• Business or business-casual attire (all sizes and genders)
• Weather-appropriate outerwear (jackets, coats, hats, gloves, rain gear)
• Workwear (boots, uniforms, etc.)
• Casual, everyday clothing in clean and good condition
• New socks, undergarments, and hygiene kits (must be unopened)

Please ensure all items are clean, gently used or new, and free of rips, stains, or excessive wear.
